Now that the Local Control Funding Formula has been implemented and the ramifications of the base funding levels on our school districts is better understood, we would like to shift the conversation to a deeper look into implementation of California's Blueprint for Great Schools in order to provide a well-rounded education for our children.
Our agenda for the day includes:
Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the recent reauthorization of the federal act, No Child Left Behind - Carol Kocivar, one of the creators of Ed100 and past California State PTA President
Blueprint for Great Schools, focusing on what is needed in California public schools to provide a well-rounded education for all students - Jason Spencer, Principal Advisor to the State Superintendent of Public Instruction
Panel of Local Superintendents, will discuss what they could accomplish with adequate base funding - moderated by John Fensterwald, Editor, EdSource
Lunch
State Legislator Panel - Moderated by John Festerwald, Editor, EdSource
