Do you have data from multiple groups with multiple variables and can’t make sense of it? Is the data qualitative and quantitative? Do you want to better describe how multiple input variables might be affecting an output variable? If so, this Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) workshop may be able to help. Broadly speaking, ANOVA is way of describing and quantifying the variation present in collections of data. Designed for individuals with limited statistical background, this workshop will provide an introduction into the functional applications of ANOVA.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the session participants will be able to

• Explain how to choose between an ANOVA or t-test
• Know and understand the null and alternative hypotheses for every ANOVA.
• Identify the components of an ANOVA table
• Interpret an F-test statistic
• Understand the difference between a one-way and two-way ANOVA.
• Visually identify an interaction effect
