"Real Estate Securities Outlook: Wall Street vs. Main Street"

Presented By: Ian Goltra, Portfolio Manager;
Orinda Asset Management

Have you been wondering whether the growth of Amazon and online retailers will make shopping centers obsolete?  How will working from home and job-sharing impact office buildings? What about AirBnB’s impact on the apartment space?

Please join us for our May chapter meeting when veteran real estate investor Ian Goltra discusses the US real estate securities market. He will explain how developments on Main Street impact the value of real estate stocks on Wall Street.  Mr. Goltra will use local case studies, including Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, to illustrate the considerations investors should be weighing today.

About Our Speaker

Ian Goltra brings over 25 years of expertise in evaluating and monitoring real estate securities. His vast experience includes analyzing companies from illiquid limited partnerships in the secondary market to global real estate companies. He currently serves as co-portfolio manager of Orinda’s income mutual fund and is jointly responsible for the Fund’s investment research, investment strategy, investment process and overall investment management.

In addition to Mr. Goltra, we’ll be hearing from guest speaker John N. Perry, Senior Vice President of Investor Relations at The Macerich Company which owns Broadway Plaza. We’ll hear about the property and its impact on Walnut Creek and the entire East Bay. Macerich, an S&P 500 company, is one of the country’s leading owners, operators and developers of major retail real estate (NYSE:MAC). Their unparalleled portfolio comprises trophy properties in the most desirable, densely populated and highest-barrier-to-entry U.S. markets.
