Two-Day Teledyne RDI Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) Training Course

Hosted in beautiful Nice, France this course offers an in-depth overview of the principals and applications of Teledyne RDI’s DVL products as they apply to your underwater platform.

Day 1 - Advanced Training 201: Integration - Thursday, June 19, 2014
8:30 am - 9:00am - arrival/continental breakfast
9:00 am - 5:00 pm - training (lunch and breaks provided)

This training session will focus on getting you from A-to-Z with the DVLs, i.e. from knowing what they are, what they measure, how they measure it, how to set them up, how to use the data and how they operate in different situations. We will also focus on the mechanical, acoustical and electrical considerations when integrating your DVL to your vehicle.

We will cover crucial items such as interference, EMI and of course what to do when Murphy’s law get the best of you, i.e. the art of troubleshooting.

And we’ll finish-up with getting you confident with DVL/ADCP data analysis.

Day 2 - Advanced Training 202: Optimization - Friday, June 20, 2014
8:30 am - 9:00 am - arrival/continental breakfast
9:00 am - 4:30 pm - training (lunch and breaks provided)

This training will focus on understanding what drives the performance of your DVL as well as help you understand how to optimize it.

The topics include but are not limited to:

•            BroadBand theory – the basis to understanding DVL performance

•            Velocity performance:

                        - Long term performance – accuracy

                        - Short term performance – standard deviation

•            Altitude/slant range performance

We will also investigate a few case studies to give you a global view of how these DVLs are being used in specific applications.
