Playing with Purpose: Integrating EMDR with Sandtray Therapy

This two-hour webinar introduces clinicians to specific techniques and interventions that integrate Sandtray and EMDR Therapy into their practice.  The utilization of the Integrative Attachment Trauma Protocol for Children (IATP-C) and Sandtray therapy will enhance the healing work necessary for children who have suffered attachment wounds as well as improved relationships for the entire family.

 

Goals and Objectives:

  • Have an understanding of the history of Sandtray and the differences between Jungian Sandplay Therapy and Sandtray Therapy.
  • Understand the benefits of utilizing Sandtray therapy for a wide range of populations.
  • Have an understanding of how to begin utilizing Sandtray Therapy and what supplies will be needed to begin using this approach.
  • Discuss how Sandtray Therapy can support healing from traumatic experiences, specifically attachment trauma and developmental trauma.
  • Understand how Sandtray accesses wounded/hurt/younger parts of self in Sandtray Therapy.
  • Recognize the significance of the therapeutic relationship when utilizing Sandtray Therapy. Specifically, the importance of attunement, safety and regulation to assist the client’s healing potential.
  • Understand the benefits of using Sandtray Therapy and EMDR Therapy together to enhance a client’s treatment process. 
  • Learn how to integrate Sandtray Therapy into the AIP model of EMDR Therapy.
  • Understanding of how Sandtray can be used for all 8 Phases of EMDR therapy.
