Annual Refresher

This one day course will prepare you to apply skills and techniques learned in H.E.R.T. (respond to multi-casualty incident involving contamination resulting from natural, accidental or intentional causes)  The ABIA H.E.R.T. course incorporates adult education techniques, hands-on skills practice, simulation exercise to enhance student competence.

Unique to the ABIA Hospital Decontamination Team course is the competencies focused on the roles for:

1. Traditional decon team participants
2. Hospital security personnel
3. Team management and support for those who cannot wear PPE.

Prerequisite: H.E.R.T. certification from any provider

Course Audience: Hospital personnel who are on or want to be on HERT.

Course Fees: There is no fee for those participating from Summa, AGMC or CHMCA. All others, the fee is $100.00.  The course fee includes all materials,lunch and parking.

You must submit copies of your H.E.R.T. certification in order to be eligible to register for this refresher class.  Other Decontamination Team training is not a substitute for H.E.R.T. certification. FEMA can also validate your certification if you cannot locate your certificate.
