Who should attend:  Anyone responsible for or participating in Quality System Auditing.

 The purpose of the SFMA/ASQ Jointly-Sponsored one-day “Quality System Audit Training,” is to increase understanding of auditing techniques.  With hands-on interaction, participants learn the step by step process of Quality auditing. They will recognize practical audit, evaluation, and communication skills, and will refine reporting skills and their ability to implement corrective action programs. It is an excellent introductory training for individuals to start their career in auditing.

The benefits of having personnel in your company with these skills include:  

  • Develop a cadre of new auditors with  effective auditing techniques
  • Identifying key activities for performing a successful audit
  • Evaluating the significance of audit findings and reporting the findings and evaluations
  • Improving communication skills for the presentation of audit findings
  • Developing and implementing corrective action programs
  • Eligibility for up to 1.0 RU for applicable ASQ recertification 

At the completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of the following:

  • Duties and Responsibilities of an Auditor and Lead Auditor
  • How to prepare for an audit; how to prepare Audit Checklists; how to prepare an Audit Schedule/Plan
  • Preparing and conducting Opening and Closing Meetings
  • How to gather Audit Evidence during the Audit; Preparing the Audit Report
  • How to evaluate Corrective Actions
  • Do’s and Don’ts for Audits 

Each participant should bring to class, any Standard Operating Procedure (three- to five-pages) for use during the class.
