Estate and Business Planning for Small Business
The purpose of estate planning is to utilize the exemptions allowed by the state and federal government to efficiently move assets to heirs with the least amount of inconvenience, taxes and other transfer expenses.
The estate planning process not only includes designating your heirs, but it may also include establishing vehicles—such as trusts—to help protect your assets. This will help ensure your assets go to the people you care about, and can help minimize taxes. In the event of mental or physical incapacity, an estate plan can designate people to help care for you and your property through a durable power of attorney and a health care proxy. You may also want to include a living will among your estate planning documents, so your health care providers know your wishes regarding the possible use of life-sustaining measures in dire situations.

Mike Trabucco, VP of Emerald Financial brings 33 years of experience in financial planning for businesses and families. Mike started his career with Prudential in 1979 and has held numerous management positions. During his tenure at Prudential, Mike received 23 Presidential awards and was in the top 5%. In 2001 he received a President’s trophy for being #1 in the country with Prudential. A strong contributor in the community, Mike serves on the Board of Directors at St. Mary’s hospital in Passaic, NJ.
