In this all-day workshop with editors/authors Alice Osborn and Belea T. Keeney, you’ll learn how you can harness the power of your writing by charting your narrative arc, finding your theme and giving your characters a strong voice. We'll help you strengthen your writing with techniques for dialogue, scene vs. summary, passive voice, point of view, motivation, backstory, and characterization. Why does this matter?
Because if you write well you’ll be more motivated to stick with it, editors will notice the smooth writing, and this can help lead you to publication. With writing exercises and time to work, you'll write a least a thousand words in this class. After completing this workshop you’ll be ready to focus on your manuscript with laser precision to bring out a novel or memoir your readers will enjoy and remember.
Sign up for this class if you set aside time each week to write, have taken a few writing classes (prior publication is a not a requirement) and are ready to invest in your writing career.
