1fw Adventure Weekend

Please join us for our 1fw Adventure weekend in beautiful and scenic Estes Park, Colorado. The weekend will include food/nutrition demonstrations, workouts, outdoor adventures, and lots of loving life!!! Registration fee includes: Event 1 fw apparel, access to 1fw team seminars and conference sessions, goody bag, and planned 1fw activities.

*Registration Fee DOES NOT include Room/Board or Transportation to/from the airport.

Room/Board accommodations may be made with Brenda Dixon at the YMCA of the Rockies - Estes Park, 970-586-3341 ext. 1349 or bdixon@ymcarockies.org. Please note that a 35% deposit is required at booking.

Eastside Lodges rates for 9/25-9/28: single $412.00, 2 to a Room $258.50, 3 to a Room $207.38, 4 to a Room $181.75, 5 to a Room $166.40, 6 to a Room $156.18. 
Rates are per Person/Adult, plus applicable taxes.
"American" Meal Plan (breakfast/lunch/dinner) included in Lodge rates.

  • Rates are per person for entire stay
  • Rates are per person based upon the number of adults sharing the room
  • Tax is not included in rates and will be added to your final bill
  • Check-in is at 3:00 pm or later/Check-out is by 10:00 am

Transportation arrangements to/from the airport may be made with Estes Park Shuttle Service
($63.75 roundtrip from DIA to Estes Park).

  • Welcome and introductions to the team
  • Coach Lorrie: What is Clean Eating?
    • Discussions on clean eating and how to determine what's clean.  Handouts: websites for reviewing labels; common allergens and "foods" to avoid; Lists of ideas; clean menus; recipe print outs.  
    • Dinner

Friday, September 26th

  • Breakfast
  • Head to a local gym
  • Coach Keith -Building Muscle vs. Lifting Weights
    • All our lives we have heard you have to "lift weights" or "Let’s go lift some weights", but should we really be so concerned about lifting weights? Is it really beneficial for us?  Keith will discuss his changed philosophy and teach you through interactive exercises why you should be more focused on "Building muscle" and less focused on "Lifting weights" to help build lean muscle mass, increase your flexibility, and train to prevent injuries from happening. 
    • Workout with your 1fw Coaches at a local gym
    • Lunch
    • Coach Michelle:  Drop the fat and keep the Muscle - Dump the Scale
      • Why do we culturally obsess over a number on the scale?  Our bodies are all constructed differently, shaped differently, and trained differently, yet we worry about fitting into a societal preconceived number that tells us if we are healthy?  Heath does not come from hitting a magical number.  Health comes from living a full and fit life! Michelle will be talking about why slow movement on the scale is not a reflection of success and why dropping the fat and adding the muscle does not always mean change on the scale.

Saturday, September 27th

  • Breakfast
  • Coach Michelle: Balance and Living a Full and Fit Life
    • Living a full and fit life requires balance.  It's not about living in the gym or obsessing over food all the time.  Fitness should be part of who you are, and once you educate yourself on living a fit life than the balance should come naturally.  Michelle will be giving an interactive workshop on how to find balance in your fit lifestyle.  
    • Hike beautiful  Rocky Mountain National Park with your 1fw Coaches
    • Free Time
    • Dinner
    • Coach Lorrie: Physical Reactions to Food
      • How your body processes food and how your metabolism succeeds or fails based on our food choices.  Handouts: Common diseases and how they are caused or worsened by diet.
