The Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association is pleased to announce the first of two 225^th Anniversary Celebrations of the Northern District of New York as the Mother Court on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the James T. Foley U.S. Courthouse,
445 Broadway, Albany, New York. 

The date of the first sitting of the Mother Court, the first Court to convene under the new United States Constitution, was Tuesday, November 3, 1789.  In celebration of this event and in honor of the Court’s first judge, Judge James R. Duane, a commemorative reception is being held at the Albany Court House.
