Greenhouse Gas Strategies Forum - Southeast

The US EPA released its proposed Clean Power Plan June 2, 2014, a state-based program guideline to address carbon pollution for existing power generation sources based on Section 111(d) of the Clean Air Act.

To address this potentially industry-changing rule, Black & Veatch is hosting the GREENHOUSE GAS STRATEGIES FORUM to discuss the impacts of this guideline on the electric generation industry.

The FORUM will provide:

  • A review of the key legal concerns for the industry both during the review process as well as post rule implementation.
  • Analysis of the rule’s impacts on the electric utility industry and wider energy markets from industry experts.
  • Discussion of potential solution strategies to comply with Clean Power Plan.
  • Reviews and analyses of other regulations impacting electric generators including:
    • 316(b)
    • Effluent Limitation Guidelines (ELG)
    • Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR)
  • Networking opportunities with fellow industry leaders.

These perspectives will provide you with a unique opportunity to gain insight on the current thinking around solution options, potential long term issues the rule may effect, and how it impacts existing generation, transmission, renewable energy, distributed generation, and carbon capture and sequestration.
