Lining up Language: Navigating Government Policy 

Want to know what government policy is regarding language use and learning in New Zealand? Need help navigating the maze of strategies, stats and approaches?

Register Now!The Office of Ethnic Communities  is proud to host Lining up Language: Navigating Government Policy, a two-day conference aimed at fostering discussion about government policy and activity in relation to language use and learning in New Zealand.

Speakers include The Minister for Ethnic Communities, Hon Peseta Sam Lotu-liga, Race Relations Commissioner, Dame Susan Devoy, and representatives from a range of government departments including the Ministries of Education, Justice, and Business, Innovation and Employment as well as a range of non-government organisations such as the Asia New Zealand Foundation, COMET Auckland and Victoria University. 

The keynote speaker is Chris Szekely, Chief Librarian, Alexander Turnbull Library. Chris has published several books in English and Te Reo Maori and has received several literary awards.
