Professor powell is director of the Haas Diversity Research Center and the Robert D. Haas Chancellor's Chair in Equity and Inclusion at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an internationally recognized authority on civil rights, civil liberties and the intersection of race with issues such as housing, education, poverty and identity. He has written and spoken extensively on these matters, and the Endowments is pleased to provide this opportunity for him to share his expertise with the Pittsburgh community.
