Western Mass Tree Wardens Summer 2023 Meeting 

Please join us for education and networking at the Bluebonnet Diner! This meeting is special as it is co-sponored by Mass Forest Alliance.  Just $40 per person. ISA and MCA CEUs are pending.  Registration deadline is June 10th.

5:00-5:15 Gathering

5:15-5:45 - UTILIZING URBAN WOOD - Hear two stories from local people on how they give new life to dead urban trees.  Nicholas Simmons owner of Hadley Mill Works will talk about how his passion for live edge boards has evolved into a new business that turns urban wood waste into beautiful planks for one of a kind projects. Sheldon Finlay will talk about his homemade bandsaw mill and some of the projects wood has been used for.    

5:45-6:15 Dinner - Dinner Buffet - Boiled Ham, Italian Meatballs, Macaroni w/Marinara Sauce, Polish Kielbasa, Fried Chicken Drummers, Fresh Vegetable, Potato Salad, Tossed Salad, Fruit Salad, Sliced Tomatoes, Sliced American Cheese, Assorted Relishes ~ Rolls & Butter ~ Assorted Desserts ~ Coffee, Tea or Milk.

6:15-7:15 FOREST HEALTH UPDATE - Nicole Keleher, Massachusetts DCR will
discuss
the latest on forest health conditions in Massachusetts. The spread and
possible control of invasive pests impacting our trees. The rapid spread of
Beech Leaf Disease will be highlighted.

MCA, ISA, and Pesticide credits have been requested.
