Platte Area Chamber Walleye Fishing Tournament 

The 21st Annual Platte Area Chamber of Commerce Walleye Fishing Tournament will be held May 5th & 6th, 2017.

The event will start off with the Rules Meeting and Calcutta on Friday, May 5th, at the Yellow Rose. Social hour with meal will be served from 6-7 p.m., followed by the rules meeting and Calcutta. All participants are required to attend the rules meeting.

Fishing will take place Sat., May 6th, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Weigh-in will be located at the Yellow Rose Arena with a light meal served. All teams must be at the weigh-in by 4 p.m. Trophies will be awarded and the winners will be announced. Door prizes will be given away.

Rules and Regulations:

ELIGIBILITY: Anyone with a valid South Dakota fishing license, a complete and signed entry form and a paid entry fee. Contestants must check in at rules meeting on Friday, May 5th, 2017, by 7 p.m. at the Yellow Rose at 27480 N. Hwy. 45.

TACKLE AND EQUIPMENT: Artificial and live bait may be used. Each boat may have 4 active fishing rods. Only fishing entrants are allowed in the boat. 

KILL TOURNAMENT: All fish must be on ice, no live wells allowed.

FISHING AREA AND BOUNDARIES: Lake Francis Case. North Boundary: ELM CREEK; South Boundary: WHEELER’S. All boats must leave from and return to SNAKE CREEK RECREATION AREA boat ramp located at the Platte/Winner Bridge.

FISHING HOURS: There will be two flights. The first flight (teams 1 - 50) will start at 7 a.m. and must check in no later than 3:00 p.m. The second flight (teams 51 - 99) will start at 7:30 a.m. and must check in no later than 3:30 p.m. Details will be explained at the rules meeting Friday night.

NUMBERS: Numbers are assigned by lottery drawing.

SCORING: Prizes will be based on most weight, pounds and ounces. Seven fish will be weighed. Only 2 fish over 20" allowed. Only 8 fish allowed in the boat. WHETHER YOU CATCH FISH OR NOT, YOUR TEAM MUST CHECK IN AT THE WEIGH STATION. All state laws apply.

TEAMS: Contestants may enter as two- or three-person teams. When registering online, please be sure to include your fishing partners' names (up to a maximum of two).

MISCELLANEOUS: Entrants are responsible for their own meals and reservations. Patrol boats will be in the area each day. State Park Entrance License required of all vehicles. Calcutta will be held Friday, May 5th, 2017 at 7 p.m., at the Yellow Rose, Platte, South Dakota. Friday and Saturday night meals and refreshments are included in the entry fee. Cash Bar will be available both nights.

Entry Fee:

The entry fee is $200 per 2-Person Team or $250 per 3-Person Team.

The fee increases to $250 per 2-Person Team or $300 per 3-Person Team after April 22nd.

The meals on Friday and Saturday night are included in the entry fee.
