Alec Young joined FTSE Russell in August 2017 a Managing Director of Global Markets Research. He is responsible for enhancing client engagement through the formulation and communication of global macroeconomic and asset allocation insights and solutions. In his role, Alec focuses on showcasing the utility of FTSE Russell indexes within the context of broader capital market and asset allocation activity.

Prior to joining FTSE Russell, Alec spent 11 years working in senior, client and media facing investment strategy roles at both S&P Global, where he served as their Global Equity Strategist, and most recently Oppenheimer Funds, where he served as a Vice President & Investment Strategist.

Alec is regularly quoted in leading financial publications including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, NY Times, Barron's, Bloomber.com, USA Today and ETF Trends, among many others. He has also often appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, PBS, CNN and Reuters, among others.

Alec holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Grinnell College. In 2008 he completed an executive education program on Investment Strategies and Portfolio Management at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Business School.
