Haley CaudillKids like Haley love the Conservatory.  They don't just learn about plants, they learn about insects, the exotic places plants come from and the neat things they do. Kids can pop cherry tomatoes into their mouths from "Tumblin' Tom", a plant from Mexico that grows in our Very Veggie container. Their eyes grow wide at "Mr. Pokey", a cactus from Madagascar, with long thorns and a Dr. Seuss-like top knot; they are amazed that the Popcorn Plant, from South Africa, really smells like...well, buttered popcorn!  And..they love the Monkey Cups, a plant from the Asian tropics that eats bugs! Eeew!

With your support,  we introduce children to plants from around-the-world to the world right outside their door. We nurture children through our annual butterfly programs, garden tours, nature walks and even gnome hunts!
