Register Today for 2016 GLTAG on Drummond Island!

Four days of hands-on learning experiences with expert naturalists, master artists, and tradition bearers in one of the most scenic natural locations.

The Great Lakes Traditional Arts Gathering (GLTAG) is a four day event hosted by the Great Lakes Lifeways Institute.  The 2016 GLTAG will be held at Warners Cove on the South Shore of Drummond Island,  August 10 - 14, 2016.  GLTAG  provides the unique opportunity for hands-on learning of traditional arts and skills of the various cultures in the Great Lakes Region alongside some of the finest artists, tradition-bearers, naturalists, and craft specialists in the world - with a beautiful, relaxing, natural setting.

The event brings together a diverse group of people in a hands-on learning environment to share and experience the rich natural and cultural history of the Great Lakes Region.  Traditional arts and skills are part of our shared history. This is a unique learning experience that offers an opportunity to discover our common traditions, how they originated, and how they impact our lives today, while learning valuable arts and skills alongside expert instructors and specialists.

Classes, seminars, symposiums, and evening programs explore the relationships of diverse cultures and the impact of those relationships on regional skills, arts, and traditions through hands-on activities. The event is family friendly with a fully staffed Kids Camp and activities for all ages and all skill levels.  With dozens of hands-on classes, educational outings, and many informal opportunities to interact with nearly thirty expert instuctors, this is an exellent opportunity to learn, create, and explore.

Please note that registration is limited and available on a first come first serve basis.  Catered breakfasts and dinners are optional for all registrants, and on-site tent camping is included in the registration cost.
