1301 Park Blvd, Cherry Hill, NJ
Join Sustainable Cherry Hill for a free, interactive workshop to help homeowners identify and ultimately avoid planting and cultivating garden plants that are invasive and harmful to our very special southern New Jersey ecosystem. The workshop will feature a presentation, a demonstration on how to report invasive species to the NJ Invasive Species Strike Team (NJISST) using its new phone app and a walk around Cooper River Park to ID the invasive species found there by NJISST Coordinator, nature photographer and long time environmental educator, Michael Hogan.
Michael Hogan is a nature photographer who is also deeply involved in environmental preservation and education and is currently the NJ Invasive Species Strike Team, Southern Region Coordinator. He has been active in efforts to preserve open space in Camden County and in preserving Old Pine Farm and Timber Creek Park in Deptford Township. He is a past member of the Advisory board of the Nature Conservancy and works with many conservation and watershed organizations. He was also a collaborator on the book “The Natural Wonders of Jersey Pine and Shore” with the late author Robert Peterson.
This program is hosted by Sustainable Cherry Hill's Garden Task Force.
