Donovan's Shady Harbor Marina Hosting 2nd Annual Caribbean Jerk Off BBQ Competition 

We are looking for as many Mohawk-Hudson 2-man teams as possible to come to Shady Harbor Marina with their best rendition of Caribbean Jerk cuisine. 

Each team will be provided space and a small tent to create their unique delicacies. There will be 3 highly qualified judges to award the “Cup” for the year; Winners will certainly receive bragging rights for the year, as well as a prize from Shady Harbor. Plus, the official cup can be displayed in the winning teams’ clubhouse for the year.

Each member of a registered team will receive a free dock space for Friday and Saturday night. 

Here are the Official Rules:

1) No cheating or spying.

2) No bad attitudes, drunk is good, stupid drunk is punishable by death.

3) Food presentations are limited to Caribbean cuisine. It does not have to be Jerk Chicken, but it has to be authentic. That will be a parameter in the judging.

4) Each team should plan on feeding 3 judges and about 2 dozen people, small plates. Presentation will play a big part in judging.

As the host of this event, Shady Harbor will provide an excellent facility, and hamburgers and hotdogs for the non-believers. Enjoy music throughout the day and well into the evening including:

12:00-1:00 - Molly Durnin
1:00-4:00 - Tropical Beat Steel Band
4:00-5:00 - Molly Durnin
5:00-8:30 - Captain Squeeze and the Zydeco Moshers
8:30-12:00 midnight - Playin' with Fire (at Yanni's Cucina)

The restaurant bar will be open for your enjoyment. Judging will take place from 4-5 P.M.

We are politely asking for donations to support the Northeastern NY Alzheimer's Association and we will also have a 50/50 raffle with 50% going to the Alzheimer's Association and 50% going to the winner. We will also be raffling off prizes throughout the event. The 50/50 will be drawn just prior to the awarding of the cup (must purchase 50/50 tickets by 4 p.m.).
