Depressive Disorders |
PRESENTERS:

This workshop is free and open to everyone but registration is limited
Participants will receive an overview of major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia), psychotic depression, postpartum depression and seasonal affective disorder.
You will learn about prevalence rates and causes associated with findings in genetics, social factors, brain chemistry, structure and development. You will learn about the course and prognosis, signs, symptoms, treatments and recovery. Someone who has struggled with a depressive disorder will be present to share their struggles with this illness as a lived experience. Participants will learn about the recovery philosophy. We will review hospital and community resources.
CHANNAL, a consumer agency, will present on its services. You will hear from people who have lived with depression.
