A Pilgrim's Process 19.1 

Discipleship is the life-long sacred process for those who choose to follow Jesus' Way into the Truth about Life. It is a unique process for each based upon the individual's history and current circumstances. But it is also a common experience based on the Biblical mandates found in Scripture about Jesus' Way, Truth, and Life.

A Pilgrim's Process is an experience designed to assist in discerning both the common experience and the individual's unique experience of this sacred process. Exposing participants beyond the most commonly treated aspects of discipleship, A Pilgrim's Process helps reveal the necessary pilgrimage all must take to become what the soul longs to become.

Drawing from a variety of streams of church history, traditions, and teachings the Pilgrim's Process experience is broken down into three modules. Modeul One, Unrolling the Map, is a six week course, held Thursday evenings beginning February 21st to March 14th, from 7-9 PM, PLUS Saturday, March 16th from 9 AM to 3 PM, at the Rhythm of  Grace Prayer Chapel (housed inside Ward Parkway Presbyterian Church, 7406 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64114).

Module One will provide content outlining the history, theology and meaning of the Way of Cristian discipleship (commonly referred to today as spiritual formation), the various stages of spiritual development, and the five survival kit spiritual exercises a disciple must integrate  into their journey in development of our sacred discipleship process.

Later in the year, in a retreat formate, we will offer module two (March 29-31) and three (Sept 20-22). Here is what each of those retreats will cover:

Module Two; A Rhythm of Life, is a weekend retreat experience exploring and practicing the means that a follower of Jesus must develop to encounter the Truth of Christian discipliship lifestyle. Participants will have the opportunity to look into Scripture and learn to establish their own rhythm for applying  the Truth about Jesus' Way in their life based on their own journey. In additions each will gain an understanding of the blockages that work to thwart their desired lifestyle and how to overcome each.

Module Three; Tracking the Voice of God, is our final weekend retreat experience. It is designed to bring together leassons gleaned from Modules One and Two and show how full integrataion of these lessons can be lived out in each person's unique pilgrimage. Ultimately our journey is for the sake of the world around us and Module Three will give a vision for what that might look like in each person's life.
