Economics and the Environment (7/20/17)

Designed for teachers of economics, environmental scienes or anyone interested in saving the planet, this workshop will present how economists have come up with ways to deal with environmental issues such as climate change and other pollution problems. Learn how to teach essential concepts such as markets in pollution and other incentive based systems. Activities are appropriate for middle and high school students, although some concepts are advanced for middle schoolers.

Topics include: evironement public goods and common resources; saving common resources and property rights; externalities and Dismal Lake, third party costs; how clean is clean enough using marginal analysis; how to clean up the environment.
