IACUBO 2015 Annual Meeting

The 2015 IACUBO Annual Meeting will be held in Hine Hall at IUPUI in Indianapolis on May 15th, 2015 (formerly University Place Conference Center). We are excited to welcome multiple world renowned speakers this year.  IACUBO is a tremendous opportunity for all of our higher education business and finance colleagues to come together for a invaluable day of learning, discussion, engagement and development (CPE).

Dr. Jairy Hunter will be joining us for our keynote address, 'Essential Leadership Skills for Challenging Times.'  Jack Welch, former chairman and CEO of General Electric, stated, “Good leaders create a vision, they articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive the vision to completion.”  This presentation will explore challenges and opportunities professionals are facing during turbulent times.

Brian Baker, and Chris DuKate of Crowe Horwath LLP will share their  practical experiences regarding establishing internal controls with limited resources.  Their presentation will cover commonly encountered challenges and share ideas for alternative control measures that institutions with limited financial staff resources can implement in order to strengthen their control environment.

Deb Dunbar will provide insights on enagement and employee retention, drawing upon her experience as University Director for Organizational Development and Compensation Programs at Indiana University.

Sarah Ancel will join IACUBO in the afternoon from the Indiana Commission of Higher Education to discuss shared responsibility in higher education, and performance funding formulas.  Sarah will explain the history of performance funding and the various ways in which institutional funding is tied to student performance. She will also discuss some policies and strategies for institutions to consider implementing to improve the student outcomes tied to these financial incentives.

IACUBO is pleased to welcome Kevin Corcoran from the Lumina Foundation for the afternoon's closing session.  Kevin will discuss the growth of employer demand for people with education beyond high school, the role of the Lumina Foundation and Colleges and University in meeting that demand.

We anticipate a tremendous day of development, networking, and engagement, and look forward to seeing you on May 15!
