Please join us on Tuesday, July 17th at Carroll Place, for the Power of Music Concert Series - presented by Daniel's Music Foundation and One Vision Music. Enjoy moving performances by Dina Fanai and Bob Kinkel, as well as the Co-Founder of Daniel's Music Foundation, Daniel Trush with Artistic Director, Gerard Powers plus other special guests, as they share their own personal experiences of the transformative power of music. Each month look for new artists to participate in this meaningful concert series, with proceeds to benefit Daniel's Music Foundation programs. We look forward to seeing you there!

Will Calhoun - TWill Calhoun received his BA in recording and engineering from the Berklee School of music. The two-time Grammy winner is a co-founding member of the genre-busting rock band Living Colour. Will has produced and toured with artists from around the world including Mick Jagger, Pharaoh Sanders, Wayne Shorter, Harry Belafonte, Mos Def, Lauryn Hill, Paul Simon, Madonna, Lou Reed, Oumou Sangare, Emily Sailers, and Public Enemy, to name a few. Will has released many solo recordings of Jazz, World, and Electronic music. His latest 5 Star jazz release is titled Celebrating Elvin Jones on Motema records. Sasha Lazard - Sasha’s operatic chops and deep eclecticism is the definition of “classical crossover”, a mingling of traditional and iconoclastic genres including folk, rock, electronica and jazz. As a recording artist, Sasha produced the soundtrack for the film “Blind” (starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore) featuring several of her songs, including a duet with Robert Redford. Her music has also appeared in features films including “Modigliani,” “Princess Mononoke,” and “The Lodger.”Sasha has performed at events worldwide for a variety of upscale, luxury brands like Bulgari, Louis Vuitton, Carolina Herrera and Salvatore Ferragamo, to name a few. She has also worked with dozens of charitable organizations like The Global AIDS Alliance, The Whitney Museum, The Starlight Children’s Foundation and one of her favorites, Daniel’s Music Foundation. For Sasha, music was the gift that helped her get on her feet during her struggles with chronic Lyme disease and the inspiration or her to team up with the Global Lyme Alliance. Anais Reno - 14 year-old vocalist, composer and sophmore in Drama at LaGuardia High School, Anais is the winner of the Forte International Competition in 2016. She has performed her pieces with the NY Philharmonic and recently did her first solo show at Feinstein's 54 Below. Anais believes that music is an expression that can heal and remind us that their is great beauty in the world. anaisreno.com @anaisreno

ABOUT DINA FANAI
Dina Fanai founded her company One Vision Music (OMV) in 2003 for the sole purpose of using music as a powerful force to create positive change in the world. Dina has performed throughout the world as a singer, songwriter, composer; and as a vocalist with Trans-Siberian Orchestra which she later became head of Artist Development for the band. She is the recipient of grants and awards from The Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and National Endowment for the Arts, as well as leading educational programs in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. Her recording project CINEMA 12, was featured on Tina Turner’s platinum selling CD “Beyond”. Dina co-wrote and produced 2 CD's for Jackie Evancho, both which hit #1 on the Billboard charts. Most recently, Dina was brought on by the band Foreigner as choir master, arranger and featured vocalist for their 40th anniversary orchestral show, television special, DVD and CD which remained #1 on Billboard for 4 weeks. Through OVM she continues to produce concerts and recordings supporting a wide variety of causes including LGBT, people with disabilities, woman’s empowerment, homeless children, climate change and animal rights. ABOUT DANIEL'S MUSIC FOUNDATION
Daniel’s Music Foundation (DMF) is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 to empower underserved individuals with developmental and physical disabilities through music. Today, inside the four walls of their 8,700 square foot, custom-built music center in East Harlem the Trush Family, along with the management team and staff, are on track to serve over 20,000 participants this year alone through a variety of music programs - an accomplishment that has proven to be the entre into something even greater. The desire to change perception and contribute to an attitudinal shift addressing the misnomer of placing limitations on individuals with disabilities. A focus that uses social action and awareness to create the opportunity for people of all abilities to engage and appreciate each other while experiencing the joy of music together.
