According to the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC), one in five Canadians experience a mental health problem or illness each year, equating to 500,000 employees unable to work every week due to mental health problems or illnesses.
January is known as a tough month for many. The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce begins the 2019 Lunch & Learn series with a session focused on Mental Wellness in the Workplace. Chanel Gano, a Health Promotion Facilitator with Alberta Health Services, will speak on the effects that poor mental health can have on the workplace, and how employers and employees can be proactive.
