The Annual Conference of the Maine Association of Psychiatric Physician is a gathering of psychiatrists and other mental health practitioners from around the state.  This year, MAPP’s Annual Meeting will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport, Maine for a day and a half on October 21-22, 2021. 

Your organization is invited to join and be an active participate in this live, in-person event.

 Meet our Keynote Presenter

Sonia Ancoli-Israel, Ph.D. is a Professor Emeritus and Professor of Research in the Departmen   t of Psychiatry and the Center of Circadian Biology at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine. Dr. Ancoli-Israel received her Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, a Master’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Ancoli-Israel’s expertise is in the field of sleep disorders and circadian rhythms particularly in normal aging and neurogenerative disease, and in cancer. Dr. Ancoli-Israel is Past-President of the Sleep Research Society (SRS), Past-President of the Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms and was on the founding Executive Board of the National Sleep Foundation. 

She was honored in 2007 with the National Sleep Foundation Life-Time Achievement Award and the SRS Mary A. Carskadon Outstanding Educator Award, in 2012 with Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine Distinguished Career Award, in 2014 with the SRS Distinguished Scientist Award and in 2019 with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine William C. Dement Academic Achievement Award.  Dr. Ancoli-Israel is published regularly in medical and psychiatric journals with over 500 publications in the field.

ACCOMONDATIONS

MAPP has reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5 Park Street in Freeport at the special rate of $155 plus taxes for a standard room featuring either a king bed or two double beds.  The room rates are available only until September 21, 2021.   After 9/21 rooms are available on a first come first serve basis and you may not receive the special group rate.  You must contact the Hilton Garden Inn directly to make your room reservation at 1-207-865-1433.  Be sure to identify that you are attending the Maine Association of Psychiatric Physicians meeting to receive the special rate. Check-in is 3:00 pm and check-out is 12:00 pm.  All reservations must be guaranteed by a major credit card or a first night’s room deposit plus tax.  Cancellations may be made up to 72 hours prior to the arrival date.

Schedule of Events

There are 30-min breaks built into the agenda, including lunch so participants will have ample time to visit your booth and for the first time in several years, the program will be 1 1/2 days so you'll have an additional half-day to exhibit.

EXHIBITOR INFORMATION

Exhibit Setup and Break Down Exhibit space includes one six-foot covered display table, two chairs and water. Exhibitors may use stand-alone or table-top exhibits. Set up and take down times, agenda and shipping information will be sent one month prior to the meeting dates.

Special Requests If you have a special request for booth placement in the Exhibit Hall to accommodate pop-up displays or other media, please let us know. We are happy to fulfill requests if we are able. Please indicate on the reservation form if you need access to electric.  Please note that regulations do not allow Pharmaceutical companies to be in the conference area, but representatives are welcome to listen in on the presentations as long as you do not wear a name badge in the conference space.   

Company Recognition In order to ensure your company’s recognition in printed meeting materials, your completed registration form and payment must be received no later than two weeks prior to the conference date. Exhibit Staff and Event Attendance Exhibit registration includes attendance for up to two representatives, display time, meals and reception. Please update us if your attendee changes. Additional representatives are welcome for an additional fee of $150 per representative.    

Concurrent Events No exhibitor may hold any event at the same time as any MAPP sponsored event. However, there are no restrictions on exhibitors that would like to provide dinners and events (on-site or off-site) during “free” times.

Booth Sharing No subletting or sharing exhibit space by more than one company or organization will be permitted. Two companies who desire to exhibit together must pay for two booths. Upon request, MAPP staff will make every effort to place companies next to each other in the exhibit hall.

Shipping Booth and Exhibit Materials Exhibitors should make arrangements with host hotels for receiving and shipping of exhibit materials. Prior to the meeting, MAPP staff will not be liable for storing, transporting or retrieving any exhibitor materials to or from the hotel or other facility. At the end of the event, please make sure you have made arrangements for your booth materials before you leave the venue. MAPP will not be responsible for anything left in the Exhibit area at the end of the day. Cancellation Policy The deadline to cancel exhibit space is 30 days prior to the date of the event. Cancellations must be in writing by mail or e-mail and will not be accepted by telephone. If a company fails to cancel by the 30-day cut-off, it will be listed as a “No show” and the company will not receive a refund.

ATTENDEES

This program is intended for physicians in all specialities, psychologists, advanced practice nurses, social workers, physician assistants and other professionals engaged in treating patients with sleep disorders.

We anticipate over 100 attendees to participate at this year’s event.
