Explore a variety of wetland community types, their ecology, and their common indicator species in this two-part course. Following a lecture on Thursday evening, we’ll visit wetland habitats on Friday, including a red maple swamp, a floodplain marsh, and a pond. While in the field, we will take advantage of the season by observing ferns, sedges, and various aquatic species, as well as shrubs and trees. On Friday, bring a hand lens, lunch, water, and come prepared for wet feet in the field. MACC members $66, Non-members $80.
