Floodplain and Delta Ecology Institute (704/6810) 

 

Come learn about the environment of floodplains and the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta for 3 days of field work (July 16 - 18, 2019) and a follow up workshop (November 12, 2019).  


Highlights:
  • Full day bus tour of the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta will visit:
  1. The Cosumnes River Preserve. (Includes a two hour canoe trip)
  2. Tour of DWR's Carbon Sequestration Project on Twitchell Island
  3. Visit to the Big Break Regional Shoreline
  • Project WET certification and the excellent 516 page activity guide provided by the Water Education Foundation
  • A talk with naturalists at the San Joaquin National Wildlife Refuge
  • Hands-on activities and integrated lessons with literary links
  • Two units of credit available through Teachers College of San Joaquin (additional cost - $95)
  • $200 Stipend upon completion

NOTE: Registration is limited to the first 25 PAID participants.  Your registration is not confirmed until we receive your payment.  Registration cost is $35 ($45 after May 28).
