Presentations at our 17th annual archaeology forum will showcase some of our most recent research and conservation projects.
These include a focus on the work conducted over the past 5 years in the remarkable medieval town of Dunster as part of Time Team’s Dig Village Project. Prehistoric interest will be represented by a review of the Mesolithic research focussed at Hawkcombe Head and Farley Hill and the results of a recent study of the prehistoric landscape around Lee Abbey.
We will have an update of the historic environment work undertaken as part of the Exmoor Mires Partnership, and look at research and conservation of some of our most recent historic assets:our traditional signposts. Small scale conservation projects undertaken by the National Park will be featured such such as work at the Incline Winding House and ongoing condition surveys as well our rapid coastal zone assessment survey.
