About Gerald Steinberg

Prof. Gerald Steinberg is president of NGO Monitor and professor of Political Studies at Bar Ilan University, where he founded the Program on Conflict Management and Negotiation. His research interests include international relations, Middle East diplomacy and security, the politics of human rights and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Israeli politics and arms control. Prof. Steinberg obtained a Bachelors of Arts from the University of California Berkley and a Masters of Science from the University of California San Diego. He then received his PhD from Cornell University in 1981 before making Aliyah in 1982. After moving to Israel, Prof. Steinberg served in the Israeli Air Force and at Matlam (university level courses for IAF officers). Prof. Steinberg founded NGO Monitor following the 2001 UN World Conference Against Racism in Durban South Africa, where powerful NGOs, claiming to promote human rights, hijacked the principles of morality and international law. His op-ed columns have been published in the Wall St. Journal, Financial Times, Ha’aretz, International Herald Tribune, Jerusalem Post, and other publications. He has appeared as a commentator on the BBC, CNN, MSNBC, Al Jazeera, and NPR.

How We are Defeating the False Human Rights Campaigns that Demonize Israel

Please join us for a light dinner and an enlightening                             conversation with Dr. Gerald Steinberg.

Internationally recognized Professor Gerald Steinberg is the Founder of NGO Monitor.   This is a unique opportunity to learn about the strategies Professor Steinberg and NGO Monitor’s team have used in Israel's on-going war against those whose purpose is to delegitimize and destroy the Jewish State.

About NGO Monitor

NGO Monitor is on the front lines of the fight against BDS and the false human rights groups who seek to undermine Israel’s democracy. NGO Monitor provides information and analysis, promotes accountability, and supports discussion on the activities of NGOs claiming to advance human rights. NGO Monitor conducts groundbreaking research exposing the irresponsible nongovernmental organizations in Israel that use underhanded tactics in the name of human rights. Many of these subversive organizations are funded by European government to the tune of millions of dollars. NGO Monitor has successfully lobbied European governments, convincing some of them to stop funding organizations that engage in defamation and hate against the only Jewish State.

In 2013, Professor Steinberg accepted the prestigious Menachem Begin Prize on behalf of NGO Monitor, recognizing its “Efforts exposing the political agenda and ideological basis of humanitarian organizations that use the Discourse of human rights to discredit Israel and to undermine its position among the nations of the world.”
