Summer Camps Ages 11-14 

Escape the Museum 

June 27-July 1
8:30 am-4:30 pm   
$165/Members, $195/Non-members

Do you have what it takes to break the codes, solve puzzles, and escape the museum? During this week-long camp, campers will learn all that they need to know to create an escape room experience in the Museum including code writing and breaking, pattern recognition, puzzle creation, and more. At the end of the week, their work will be put to the test as their families are invited to try to escape the museum.

Ever wanted to see what it’s like to work in a Museum? Experience an in-depth, behind-the-scenes museum exploration at the ISM Research and Collection Center. Step into the collection storage areas and see what museum scientists and curators really do. Explore how science research happens and the difference it makes, then carry out a scientific study.  Learn about 3D scanning and get creative in the art lab. Discover how important objects are in understanding our world and history.

Please Note: this camp takes place at the Illinois State Museum Research and Collection Center located at 1011 E. Ash Street Springfield, IL.

Cancellation Policy
Full payment is due at the time of registration.  Summer camp fees will be refunded minus a 25% cancellation fee for cancellations made five business days in advance of the camp start date. A refund minus a 50% cancellation fee will be given for cancellations made less than five business days in advance. No refunds will be given without advanced notification.  In the event of COVID-19 quarantine or testing positive either before camp or during camp, a full refund will be given minus a 10% processing fee. The Museum reserves the right to cancel summer camp at any time (a full refund will be issued if the Museum cancels camp).
