All industry colleagues are encouraged to attend our legislative lobby day on Monday, January 13, starting at 9:00AM at “The Well” - Legislative Office Building, Albany, NY.
Our lobby efforts will focus on our newly formed coalition’s mission, Under One Roof. Our coalition supports New Yorkers living in rental apartments and those who own and operate them.
The Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act of 2019 was promoted as a way to protect tenants, but in reality, this law created unintended consequences for both landlords and tenants. It negatively impacted the way landlords do business and the quality of residence and affordability of housing options they can provide their tenants. The coalition is urging state lawmakers to amend the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act of 2019 in order to address these unintended consequences. These changes would protect tenants and landlords across the state, while also providing fair and reasonable regulations for the apartment rental industry that don’t place additional burdens on the business community and stifle regional economic development.
Please join us as we meet with our leaders and make YOUR voice heard in New York!
Cost is $25 and includes lunch, t-shirt and materials for the day.
Parking and Security
