"Sondheim In Concert" Auditions
CASTING SINGERS for a Stephen Sondheim revue in San Jose.
Director and Producer John Bisceglie seeks 35 non-union men and women (ages 18+) to appear in "Sondheim in Concert." We are looking for diverse performers with strong vocal abilities and a dynamic personality to perform contemporary musical theatre songs. Cast members will appear in multiple solo, duet, group and ensemble numbers accompanied by a grand piano.
Join us for a rousing celebration of one of Broadway's greatest composers, Stephen Sondheim. Over 35 local performers sing a superb selection of songs from Sondheim’s shows including, Company, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, Into The Woods, Follies, Sunday In the Park With George, A Little Night Music, Merrily We Roll Along, Evening Primrose, West Side Story, Gypsy and more. Don't miss this evening filled with comedy, dance and beautiful music.
The show will be performed on August 7th, 8th and 9th at the Saratoga Civic Theater.
This is a fun, non-paid community theater production with a talented cast, high production value and small time commitment (one day a week), allowing those with busy schedules and family commitments the ability to perform in a dynamic production.

Starting Arts Studio. 525 Parrott St, San Jose, CA 95112
Please be prepared to sing 16 bars in the style of the show; musical theater or operetta, (NO POP OR ROCK). An accompanist will be provided; please bring sheet music in your key and a picture and resume.
Callbacks: Thursday, May 21st. 7-10pm.
The Commitment:
10 Thursday evening rehearsals in San Jose from 7-10pm. (Near Santa Clara Fair Grounds)

Tech Week: Aug 3, 4, 5, 6 from 7-10:30pm.
4 public performances: Aug 7, 8 and 9.
If selected, cast members will need to provide one evening gown or rent a tuxedo.
If you are interested, and have less than two Thursday conflicts between May 28th and July 23rd, please make your audition appointment today.
