Here's an opportunity to join our first Martin Luther King Day of Service and Healthy Fun - the Crown Heights 5K -Walk/Run to Park Slope on Monday, Jan. 20th! Fun activities for all start at 10 am at  Public School 221, 791 Empire Boulevard, BK and the Walk/Run starts at noon.

Young Men of Color Wanted for All-Day Bone Marrow Registry. Meet Wanda, the 9/11 responder you could save!

9:30 am - 10 am: Healthy, high-fiber breakfast with fresh fruit and OJ - food for fitness champions!

10 am - 1:30 pm: Enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables in your neighborhood at the Farmers Market.

10 am - 10:50 am: Fitness activities - soccer, dance, more - plus tutoring - Round 1

10:55 am - 11:45 am: Fitness activities - soccer, dance, more - plus tutoring for kids - Round 2

11:15 am - 12:00pm: ORATORY CONTEST - "I Have a Dream" speech, sponsored by the Christopher Rose Community Empowerment Campagin. Best speaker wins Ipod Touch. 

12 noon:  Walk/Run Begins - End at Park Slope's Da Nonna Restaurant.

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Ages 7 and under: fun activities at PS 221.

Please get pledges so Seeds in the Middle can offer more healthy, fun, enriching programs for youth to keep them safe and build opportunity.

First 50 people to register with $20 or more in pledges to register get free t-shirt. Every $10 in pledges gets a free raffle ticket for iPod Touch. First 5 people to get $200 in pledges get either an iPod Touch or iPod Nano!

This walk/run starts at P.S. 221's park, 791 Empire Blvd, between Troy and Schenectady, then travels down Empire to Albany and right on Lefferts Avenues across Prospect Park to Da Nonna Rosa Restaurant in Park Slope.  This is almost a 5K. Come on, you can do it! Children will get free books or other prizes!
