USPA Coach Rating Certification Course
The Jump Institute at Start Skydiving will host a USPA Coach Rating Course conducted by John Hart
Candidates who have met all the following requirements may attend the USPA Coach Rating Course:
- reached the age of 18 years old
- earned a USPA B license
- completed at least 100 jumps (more is definitely recommended, especially if belly-flying jumps)
- Completely read through the Coach Rating section of the IRM (dated within the past two years)
- Correctly answered at least 80% of the questions on the USPA Coach Rating Final Examination
- Assisted in one complete solo first-jump course (we run one every Saturday starting at 8 AM)
Candidates who have completed the following requirements may earn the USPA Coach Rating:
- completed the USPA Coach Proficiency Card
- satisfactorily completed a USPA Coach Rating Course
All candidates must also bring all the following items with them to the USPA Coach Rating Course:
- Your logbook(s) (you must be current within your license requirements)
- Your USPA license card (must be at least a B license and in-date)
- Your in-date personal skydiving equipment (an audible and an AAD are highly recommended)
- A printed or digital copy (on a laptop or tablet) of the SIM and IRM dated within the past two years
- A completed Coach Rating Exam Answer Sheet
- A Coach Rating Proficiency Card
- A form of payment to pay any remaining balance (you cannot use funds on your Burble account)
The course will begin on Friday evening at 5 PM until 9 PM and then continue at 8 AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings until sunset or completion, whichever comes first. We will meet in the main lobby by manifest each day.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your slot. The remaining course fee of $175 is due at the start of the course. Each candidate will also need to cover a minimum of four slots to complete the training portion of the course. Discounted jump packages do not apply toward these jumps.
