Target Audience: School staff teaching students with Moderate to Severe Disabilities

 6. Use student assessment data, analyze instructional practices and make necessary adjustments that improve student outcomes.
12. Systematically design instruction toward a specific learning goal.

20. Provide intensive instruction.
21. Teach students to maintain and generalize new learning across time and settings.

Description: 

This session will look at how to use Systematic Instruction for teaching chained and discrete tasks to students with moderate and severe disabilities.  Participants will learn how to use Time Delay, System of Prompts, and Simultaneous Prompting to teach academic and functional skills. Data collection and analysis of data will also be covered.  This will be an interactive session to provide participants time to practice procedures and develop plans for their students.  Participants will be getting the book, Systematic Instruction for Students with Moderate and Severe Disabilities by Belva C. Collins, Mark Wolery.  EILA and CEU’s will be applied for.

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
