7-24-19 Structured Mentoring: A Tier 2 or 3 Intervention- No Fee for Member Distrcits, $35 Fee for Non Member Districts

Target Audience: Special education teachers, general education teachers who work with students in special education, administrators

High Leverage Practices: 

1. Collaborate with professionals to increase student success.

4. Use multiple sources of information to develop a comprehensive understanding of students strengths and needs.

8. Provide positive and constructive feedback to guide students learning behavior.

9. Teach social behaviors.

Description:  There is growing evidence that having at least one caring adult can make all the difference in the life of a young person. This session will explore how to create a tier 3 data driven structured mentoring intervention. Participants will explore options for setting up a mentoring intervention such as student selection, mentor selection and monitoring. Strategies for mentors to implement with identified students will also be discussed.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
