Special education teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators who work with special education teachers and students, general education teachers who work with special education students

19. Use assistive and instructional technologies.

Description: 

This interactive workshop will explore the use of instructional technology within the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework as a means to increase student engagement, access to content, and provide options for demonstration of learning.  Additionally, they will move beyond the scope of UDL to consider more specific needs of students and how to effectively teach students how to use technology to support their learning.  Throughout the day, participants will interact with various technologies to investigate possible uses in their classroom.  

*Participants need to bring an electronic device (preferably a laptop) to the session.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
