6-5-19 Using Algebra Tiles (Quadratics)- No Fee for Member Districts, $35 Fee for Non Member Districts

Target Audience: Special education and general education teachers of students with disabilities at the Middle School and High School levels, Interventionists, Instructional Coaches

Description:   Do your students struggle with the learning of algebra?  Algebra tiles are one way to help students make algebra more tangible.  This interactive workshop will lead participants through the use of algebra tiles as a means of understanding work with quadratics, including factoring, multiplying binomials, and completing the square.  The importance of the concretesemi-concreteabstract (C-S-A) sequence of instruction will be highlighted.  Additionally, participants will learn how to use explicit instruction to teach with algebra tiles.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
