6-6-18 Core Vocabulary Communication Boards for Students Across the School Age Span- No Fee for Member Districts, $35 for Non Member Districts

Speaker: Jane Kleineret

Target Audience: All school staff working with students with moderate to severe disabilities who have communication needs. 

Description: This professional learning session will focus on using core vocabulary communication boards for students with significant disabilities.  We will highlight the use of these tools as access to curriculum to improve both communication and literacy skills across content areas.  Participants will learn ways to teach students how to use the core boards, how to collect data on use of the core boards, and how to teach peers to use the core boards.  Participants will take home poster size core boards as well as an individual core/fringe note book.  Participants MUST come in teams of at least 1 sped teacher and 1 speech-language therapist.  ASHA and KSHA CEU’s and EILA credit will be applied for.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
