7-13-18 Teaching Fraction and Beyond to Students with Mild to Moderate to Severe Disabilities- No Fee for Member Districts, $75 for Non Member Districts

Target Audience: Any school staff teaching math to students with mild to moderate to severe disabilities

Description:  

This professional learning opportunity is an extension of Fraction Sense on July 12.  Participants are required to have attended the July 12 session to attend this session.  For students to be able to make sense of operations with fractions and other applications they have to have first developed fraction sense.  This session will follow up to fraction sense by supporting teachers in learning hands-on strategies to teach students with mild to moderate to severe disabilities application of fraction knowledge.  Topics to be covered include; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions, proportional reasoning, similarity, and scale drawings.  Participants will develop and make materials to use in their classrooms.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
