7-10-18 Effective Strategies for Teaching Algebra- No Fee for Member Districts, $35 Fee for Non Member DIstricts

Speaker: Mark Helton

Target Audience: General Education and Special Education teachers in Middle School and High School, interventionists, instructional coaches

Description:  

The focus of this workshop is on research-based strategies for teaching Algebra to middle school and high school students.  Participants will have the opportunity to explore how these strategies might help students develop algebraic thinking and be used to address misconceptions along the way.  There will be time to create personalized tasks and materials based on the strategies.

Participants may want to consider registering for the Algebra Tiles sessions on June 6 and/or Algebra Progress Monitoring on July 9.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
