Description:  Teaching comprehension doesn’t have to be complicated.  In this session participants will explore comprehension strategies and ways to help emergent to fluent readers apply them to text.  We will look at ways to teach the strategies in whole group, differentiate them in small groups to deepen understanding for all students.  If participants have Jan Richardson text for Guided Reading, please bring it.  However, it is not necessary that you have it to participate.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
