7-13-17 Scholastic Summer Literacy Summit : Next Step Guided Reading Assessment: Decide and Guide

Speaker: Scholastic Professional Learning

Target Audience: K-8 teachers, instructional coaches, principals, interventionist, special educators

Description:  Learn how to plan the before, during and after section for a Guided Reading lesson appropriate to the developmental stages of your students.  Utilizing data from Next Steps Guided Reading Assessment and from daily Guided Reading lessons, participants will also see how to set an instructional focus targeted to the specific needs of their students.  Participants will be able to identify appropriate components of the lesson plan, set a focus, choose appropriate text based on data, plan a lesson using data and decide a teaching points for the lesson.  It is not necessary that participant have the Next Steps in Guided Reading Assessment kits.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
