Teaching Academic Content and Literacy to English Learners, 7-14-16

Target Audience: Elementary and middle school practitioners who work withEnglish learner students. School/district teams are encouraged.

Description:  CKEC is partnering with The Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) to provide a summer professional learning opportunity for teachers.  At this session, participants will learn:

  • Four research-based recommendations from the IES Practice Guide Teaching Academic Content and Literacy to English Learners in Elementary and Middle School.
  • Strategies for implementing the recommendations in the classroom.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
