Target Audience: General Education and Special Education math classroom teachers and instructional coaches (grades 3-5)
Description: The use of concrete materials and cooperative learning have been shown to be effective at increasing student engagement, fostering conceptual understanding, differentiating instruction, and developing a productive disposition in mathematics. This hands-on workshop will explore how various manipulatives, cooperative learning activities, and games can help change the climate of your classroom and encourage active learning. This session will be interactive and will utilize modeling, exploration, make-and-take, creating resources, and lesson planning. By the end of the session, participants will have a sets of tools that will have their students saying, “I love my math class!”
*Note: Participants should have access (either digitally or tangibly) to their unit/lesson plans.

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.
Attendance Policy:
If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
