Speaker: Karen King
Target Audience: PASS or Behavior Coaches, Counselors, Social Worker, anyone dealing with students with Anger problems or explosive students.
Description: There is no question that educators and teachers face serious challenges in dealing with angry and aggressive students. If we do not understand how students handle anger and how they individually deescalate themselves we may be creating more angry kids. This session will focus on understanding the “nature” of angry kids and how best to help them and staff deal effectively with that anger individually. Not all anger is the same. We need to have a complete understanding of how each student internalizes their anger. Several strategies will be discussed and participants will be asked to actively share tips, concerns, and ideas related to the topic.
