District Equity Work Session (10-26-15) - No Fee 

Speaker:  Jennifer Baker

Target Audience: District teacher leaders, one principal, the district PGES contact and up to two other participants of the district's choosing

Description: This regional work session will begin the process of developing equitable access plans that will ensure that poor and minority children are not taught at higher rates than other children by inexperienced, unqualified, or out-of-field teachers.  As part of this plan, districts and schools are charged with the task of analyzing their own data related to equitable access issues, identify the root causes of the inequities and developits own solutions.  Strategies to address the identified inequities will be a required diagnostic completed as part of each Comprehensive District and School Improvement plans, which must be completed in December of 2015.  Each district is encouraged to send a team of five (one teacher leader, one principal, the district PGES contact and up to two other participants of the district's choosing to this working session.

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
